Mangaluru, Apr 2: MLC Ivan D'Souza has submitted a request to N. S. Boseraju, the Minister of the Minor Irrigation Department, seeking the release of compensation for damages caused by heavy rains last year in several parts of the Mangaluru South Assembly constituency.
Areas including Jeppinamogaru, Urwa, Derebail, Pandeshwar, and Kankanady witnessed the collapse of retaining walls along stormwater drains and canals.
A formal appeal has been made to provide necessary compensation and undertake restoration work.
