Nagpur, May 1: In a tragic incident, a 43-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Nagpur just days before her daughter’s wedding, leaving her family devastated.
The deceased, identified as Kesar Sharanagat, died on the spot after being run over by a speeding Tata Ace vehicle near Rani Durgavati Chowk under the jurisdiction of Pachpaoli police station on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the victim had gone with her husband to withdraw money from a Bank of Baroda ATM for wedding expenses. The accident occurred while they were returning.

Police said the speeding vehicle first rammed into another Tata Ace parked by the roadside, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then struck Sharanagat, who had just alighted from a two-wheeler and was walking on the road.
The impact was so severe that she died instantly. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the footage has since surfaced, triggering outrage among locals.
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, leading to demands for strict action against reckless driving.
Police from Pachpaoli station rushed to the spot after receiving information and have initiated further investigation.
The incident has left the family in deep shock, as preparations were underway for the daughter’s wedding scheduled in just 10 days. What was meant to be a time of celebration has turned into mourning, with locals expressing grief over the heartbreaking loss.
