Ranveer Singh’s ‘Pralay’ on track for Aug 2026 shoot, rumours of rift dismissed

Mumbai, Apr 30: Speculation surrounding Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Pralay has been put to rest, with sources confirming that the ambitious project is progressing as planned and is set to go on floors by August 2026.

Recent reports had suggested that the post-apocalyptic thriller, directed by Jai Mehta, was facing delays due to alleged “creative differences” between the actor and the filmmaker. However, an insider associated with the production dismissed the claims as baseless.

“Ranveer and Jai have been in continuous discussions and have firmly locked the script. The project has already entered pre-production, and the team is gearing up to create a large-scale cinematic spectacle,” the source said.

Billed as a VFX-heavy action thriller set in a dystopian world, Pralay is expected to explore the zombie genre on an unprecedented scale in Hindi cinema. The film is reportedly being mounted on a budget of around Rs 300 crore.

The screenplay has been co-written by Jai Mehta and Vishal Kapoor, while the project is being backed by Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films, Ranveer Singh’s Maa Kasam Films, and Applause Entertainment.

For Ranveer Singh, the film marks a significant departure, with the actor set to adopt a completely new look for the role. Sources indicate that he is keen to explore this genre, which remains relatively untapped in mainstream Bollywood.

The actor is currently focused on Pralay and has not officially signed any other project, though discussions are ongoing for a potential collaboration with filmmaker Aditya Dhar after the film’s completion.

With pre-production underway and timelines in place, Pralay is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious ventures in recent Hindi cinema.
