Kadaba: Youth who went missing after drowning in Kumaradhara river found dead

Kadaba, Apr 28: The body of a youth who had gone missing after being swept away by strong currents in the Kumaradhara river on Monday evening has been recovered, sources said.

The deceased has been identified as Rakshith (26), son of Manju, a resident of Marthala.

The incident occurred when Rakshith had gone with his friends for a bath at Arabbi Thodu in Aithoor village on Monday evening. Though he knew swimming, Rakshith was caught in the strong current and drowned, according to locals.

Immediately after the incident, his friends and local residents informed the police. On receiving the information, Kadaba police and fire and emergency personnel from Puttur rushed to the spot and launched a search operation with the help of locals.

The search operation faced difficulties due to darkness. Later at night, Eshwar Malpe and his team arrived at the spot and recovered the body from a depth of around 30 feet, it is learnt.
