Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 26: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a mix of weather conditions across coastal Karnataka for the next four days. While the heat and humidity are expected to persist in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, a Yellow Alert has been issued from April 26 to 29 due to the possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Despite the rain forecast, temperatures are expected to remain high during the afternoon, with warnings of potential heatwaves in some areas. The weather department has advised fishermen and coastal residents to remain cautious, particularly during instances of thunder and lightning.

On the night of April 24, several parts of the region experienced moderate rainfall. Throughout Friday and Saturday, the weather remained mostly cloudy with intermittent sunshine, though the sweltering heat continued to affect daily life. Rainfall was also reported in parts of Byndoor late Friday night.
In Dakshina Kannada, Saturday was marked by high humidity and a mix of sun and clouds. Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 34.7°C, which is 0.3°C above the seasonal average. The minimum temperature stood at 25.3°C, showing a slight increase of 0.2°C from the normal range.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the combined effect of high temperatures and sudden thundershowers over the coming days.
