Udupi, Apr 25: Marking the occasion of World Earth Day, Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) Bantakal, organized an environmental awareness rally in Udupi. The rally commenced from Jodukatte and concluded at the Service Bus Stand.
Around 300 to 400 students and staff members actively participated in the event, spreading awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.










Dr Radhakrishna Aithal, CEO of SMVITM, flagged off the rally. In his address, he said, “On the occasion of World Earth Day, we have organized a rally to create awareness about environmental concerns among the public. Our students of SMVITM are actively participating in this drive. The rally, from Jodukatte to Udupi Bus Stand, aims to spread awareness among the public through slogans, highlighting the importance of saving the Earth and promoting energy consciousness.”
Speaking on the occasion, the principal Dr Nagraj Bhat said, “Saving our Earth is very important. Many factors such as plastic and harmful chemicals are damaging the environment. Our students are making an effort to raise awareness among the public through this rally.”
Students from NCC, NSS and others carried placards, raised slogans, and engaged with the public to highlight pressing environmental issues such as pollution, climate change, and the need to protect natural resources. The rally drew the attention of commuters and local residents, creating a positive impact in promoting eco-friendly practices.
