Mangaluru, Apr 20: Princilla Cardoza, a student from Mangaluru and II PUC topper in Karnataka with a score of 599 out of 600, was formally honoured by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration at the DK Zilla Panchayat quarterly meeting in April 2026.
The recognition was conferred in the presence of Karnataka’s Minister for Health and Family Welfare and district officials, marking a significant civic acknowledgement of her achievement.
Princilla Cardoza, a student of CFAL Institute, Mangaluru, and Karnataka II PUC State Rank 1 holder in Science for 2025–26, received a memento and a commendation from the district administration—an acknowledgement that her accomplishment belongs not only to her institution but also to Mangaluru.

She secured 599 out of 600 marks in the Science stream of the II PUC examination for 2025–26, achieving full marks in five of her six subjects. She was not only preparing exclusively for the board examination; she was also simultaneously preparing for JEE, NEET, and KCET at CFAL, where the curriculum is structured around the conceptual demands of competitive entrance examinations. Her board performance reflected the same depth of understanding required for entrance preparation.
This recognition belongs to Princilla, and it also reflects the pride of families in Mangaluru who believe students from the city can excel at the state level.
The Dakshina Kannada District Administration’s decision to formally recognise her at the Zilla Panchayat reflects an important principle: that academic achievement at the highest level is a civic matter, not merely an institutional one. When a student from Mangaluru leads in Karnataka, the district shares in that achievement. The formal recognition makes that connection visible.
For CFAL, the honour reinforces its long-held belief that rigorous, concept-driven teaching—aligned with the demands of JEE, NEET, and KCET—produces consistent academic excellence. Cardoza’s result, and the district’s response to it, together underline a broader message: Mangaluru continues to produce some of the state’s finest academic performers.
