Young author Reshel Fernandes to launch book on National Unity Day

Mangaluru, Apr 18: Author Reshel Bretny Fernandes, an ABVP member and final-year LLB student at SDM Law College, Mangaluru, is set to launch her new book on the occasion of National Unity Day (Ekta Divas) in India.

Fernandes, a Kittur Rani Chennamma State Awardee, has been writing on themes such as Bharat @2047, the role of youth, good governance and democratic values.

The upcoming book focuses on India’s unity in diversity and the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, highlighting a collective vision towards building a “Viksit Bharat”.

The launch is being organised on National Unity Day, commemorating the ideals of national integration and unity across India’s diverse cultural fabric.

According to information, the author is also planning to join the Bharatiya Janata Party in the near future.

She has reportedly received recognition at various national and international platforms, including the Deshratn Award 2025 at Bharat Mandapam and the J. Maurus Award by the Indian Catholic Press Association.

Fernandes has also been listed among emerging authors of 2025 in select media mentions and is often described as a young voice in contemporary Indian writing.
