Mangaluru, Apr 17: A 16-year-old girl has been reported missing from her residence in Pajeer Adka, under the jurisdiction of the Konaje police station, since April 12.

The missing girl, identified as Chaitanya, is the daughter of Jagdish Poojary and Gulabi. A student of Class 10 at Ramakrishna High School, Harekala, Chaitanya had recently completed her examinations and was at home.

According to the complaint filed by her mother, Gulabi, the girl left the house at approximately 7:30 am on April 12, informing her father that she was going to the Polali temple with friends. However, she failed to return home by evening. After an extensive search at the houses of friends and relatives yielded no results, a formal complaint was lodged.

The Konaje police have registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have issued a lookout notice to help locate the minor.

  • Physique: Stout build, wheatish complexion

  • Clothing: Purple gown and a black coat

  • Languages known: Kannada and Tulu

    The parents had a duty to verify the fact by contacting daughters friends circle including the parents just to cross check the genuineness of the intended temple visit. That is elders responsiblity and duty. Not to depend on verbal intimation/word.

    Whether she has gone with own wish?or somebody taken with wrong intention?pray she may come home safe.Since sometime young girls go missing or go away without informing.Very scary.Parents should advice children not to go with anyone who is unknown or wrong Promise.Lets hope for safe return.
