Kaup: Fatal accident on Mangaluru–Udupi national highway; one dead, two injured

Kaup, Apr 17: A horrific road accident on the Mangaluru–Udupi national highway near Pangala Kattikere claimed one life and left two others seriously injured on Friday, April 17.

The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kaup police station when a lorry collided with a car travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi. The impact was so severe that the car was completely crushed.

One occupant of the car died on the spot. The two others, who sustained grievous injuries, were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Kaup police personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to manage traffic and have initiated a formal investigation into the cause of the collision.
