Mumbai, Apr 15: The makers of Naagzilla, starring Kartik Aaryan, have announced a revised theatrical release date, pushing the film to February 12, 2027. The comedy-adventure was earlier scheduled to hit cinemas on August 4, 2026.
The announcement was made on Wednesday alongside the unveiling of a new poster, offering audiences a fresh glimpse into the film’s fantastical world inspired by Indian folklore and shape-shifting serpent mythology.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, known for the Fukrey series, the film promises a mix of humour, adventure, and mythological fantasy centred around “naag lok,” a mythical realm of serpents.

The project brings together a high-profile production team, with backing from Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Adar Poonawalla, Mahaveer Jain, and Neetu M Jain, among others.
The film was first announced in April last year when Kartik Aaryan shared a motion poster on social media, teasing his transformation into a character from “naag lok” and hinting at a larger-than-life fantasy narrative rooted in Indian cultural mythology.
In recent months, Kartik Aaryan has maintained a relatively low public profile following unverified social media speculation involving alleged online interactions, which remain unsubstantiated and have not been confirmed by credible sources.
On the professional front, the actor was last seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which underperformed at the box office despite its festive release. The film struggled to sustain momentum after a modest opening and was ultimately considered a commercial disappointment compared to his earlier success in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
With Naagzilla, the team is aiming to deliver a visually rich and entertaining cinematic universe blending mythology and comedy for a mass audience.
