Bengaluru, Apr 14: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has clarified that for II PUC Science students, the higher marks obtained in either Exam-1 or Exam-2 will be considered for CET ranking, and there is no confusion on the matter.
KEA executive director H Prasanna said that students who attempt the second exam to improve their scores will benefit, as the best of the two exam scores will be taken into account for CET ranking, similar to the previous year.

He also clarified that CET results will be announced only after the results of both PUC examinations are declared. Hence, claims that second exam marks will not be considered are false, and students should not believe such rumours.
The rule applies only to Karnataka State PUC students who follow the state syllabus. It will not apply to candidates from central boards or other state boards, he added.
