Port Louis, Apr 13: Phoenix Hyderabad made a strong start in the team competition at the IGPL Invitational 2026 in Mauritius, clinching top honours at the event hosted by Leander Paes at the scenic Anahita Golf Course.

The team’s victory was powered by an exceptional performance from Sachin Baisoya, who secured his maiden IGPL title. The 30-year-old delivered consistent rounds of 67, 71, and 67 to lead Phoenix Hyderabad to the top spot.

In the individual standings, Baisoya claimed the stroke play honours, while teenage golfer Veer Ganapathy, representing GolfKonnect Bangalore, finished as runner-up. His team, however, ended in ninth place overall.

Phoenix Hyderabad finished with a combined score of 14-under, narrowly edging past Atri Mumbai, which posted 13-under. RVR Delhi secured third place with a total of 12-under.

In terms of points, Phoenix Hyderabad earned 100, followed by Atri Mumbai with 90 and RVR Delhi with 80. These points will contribute to the overall standings, with cumulative scores across IGPL events determining the season’s team champions.

Phoenix Hyderabad’s lineup included Sachin Baisoya, Raghav Chugh, Ranjit Singh, and Arjun Bhati. Atri Mumbai featured Olympian Udayan Mane, along with Aman Raj, Aadil Bedi, and Tushar Pannu. RVR Delhi’s squad comprised Shiv Kapur, Chiragh Kumar, Aryan Roopa Anand, and Gaurav Ghei.

The tournament followed a unique team format where the top two scores from each team counted toward the daily total. Baisoya led from the front for Phoenix, with consistent support from Raghav Chugh across all three days.

For Atri Mumbai, Aman Raj played a key role with steady contributions alongside Udayan Mane. Meanwhile, RVR Delhi saw a collective effort, with different players stepping up across the three rounds, including Aryan Roopa Anand, Gaurav Ghei, Shiv Kapur, and Chiragh Kumar.

Notably, this marks the first time a team-based format has been introduced in a stroke play event at the IGPL, featuring 40 players who were selected through an auction held earlier this month.
