Goa to host CPA West Zone Conference from April 8

Panaji, Apr 8: The Goa Legislative Assembly will host the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), India Region, Zone-VII (West Zone) Conference from April 8 to 10, 2026, at the Goa Marriott Resort.

The three-day conference will bring together senior parliamentary leaders from across western India to deliberate on key governance and development priorities. The event aims to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation, promote dialogue on regional and national issues, and facilitate the sharing of legislative best practices.

Two thematic plenary sessions are scheduled as part of the conference. On April 9, discussions will focus on “The Role of Young Legislators in achieving the goals of a developed India by 2047.” This will be followed by a session on April 10 on “Priorities of Zone-VII in Trade, Tourism, Urbanisation, Environment and Coastal Connectivity.”

In addition to formal deliberations, delegates will participate in networking events, including a welcome dinner aboard the Mandovi River Cruise on April 8. The inaugural session is slated for 10:40 am on April 9, followed by the Speaker’s address at 12:10 pm, while the valedictory session will be held on April 10.

The conference will see the participation of several prominent leaders, including Om Birla, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Pramod Sawant, Harivansh Narayan Singh, Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Rahul Narwekar, Ram Shinde, and Mauvin Godinho.

Representatives including Speakers, Deputy Speakers, and Chairpersons from Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat legislatures will also take part.

The Goa Legislative Assembly expressed confidence that the conference will enhance democratic dialogue and institutional cooperation among participating states.
