Extra sleeper coaches added to key trains via Mangaluru to ease holiday rush

Mangaluru, Apr 8: In view of the heavy passenger rush during the holiday season and festivals, the Indian Railways has decided to attach additional sleeper class coaches to major trains operating via Mangaluru route.

According to an official release, the details of trains with additional coaches are as follows:

On April 10 and 11, the Chennai Egmore–Mangaluru Central Express departing from Chennai will have one extra sleeper coach.

Similarly, on April 12 and 13, the Mangaluru Central–Chennai Egmore Express leaving Mangaluru Central will be equipped with an additional sleeper coach.

The Maveli Express operating between Mangaluru Central and Thiruvananthapuram Central will have one extra sleeper coach on April 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 (from Mangaluru), and on April 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 (from Thiruvananthapuram).

Further, from April 8 to 15, the Malabar Express departing from Mangaluru Central towards Thiruvananthapuram will include an additional sleeper coach. In the return direction, trains leaving Thiruvananthapuram from April 9 to 16 will also have an extra sleeper coach.

The move is aimed at easing congestion and ensuring a more comfortable journey for passengers during the peak travel period, the release added.
