Iran threat alert briefly shuts King Fahd Causeway; link between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain reopens

Daijiworld Media Network – Bahrain

Bahrain, Apr 7: The King Fahd Causeway, a vital road link connecting Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, was reopened on Tuesday morning after being shut for several hours following security concerns linked to Iran.

The King Fahd Causeway Authority confirmed the reopening in a post on X, restoring traffic movement along the only land route between Bahrain and the Arabian Peninsula.

The temporary closure came amid fears of potential threats after a reported ballistic missile attack from Iran targeting Saudi Arabia. The strike is suspected to have caused damage to energy infrastructure, although authorities in the kingdom have not released detailed information.

The development comes as tensions continue to escalate in the region, with Bahrain’s airport remaining shut for weeks due to ongoing security concerns related to Iranian attacks.

Authorities have not disclosed further specifics about the nature of the threat that led to the causeway’s closure, but the reopening signals a return to cautious normalcy along the strategically significant corridor.
