Kundapur, Apr 6: In a case of illegal cattle transportation accompanied by an escort vehicle, the Amasebail police intercepted a goods vehicle at the Hosangadi police check post on Sunday.
Police personnel of Amasebail station, who were on duty at the check post, stopped a goods vehicle coming from Hulikal Ghat for inspection. During the check, it was found that two bulls were being transported in a cruel manner.
The police seized both the cattle transport vehicle and the escort vehicle, taking into custody a total of two vehicles and three accused persons. During preliminary inquiry, the accused reportedly admitted that the cattle were being transported for slaughter.

The arrested have been identified as Mustaq Hussain Saab Nadaf (29) of Belagavi, Saleem Hussain Saab Nadaf (33) of Belagavi, and Nadeem Abdul Khader (34) of Jumma Masjid Road, Kandlur. Mohammed Naufil, who was in the escort vehicle (car), along with another individual, managed to escape.
A case has been registered at Amasebail police station, and further investigation is underway.
