Mangaluru: Illegal fencing on govt land near Pilar mosque cleared

Mangaluru, Apr 4: An attempt to encroach upon government land near Pilar Mosque in Permannur village under Ullal City Municipality limits was foiled after revenue officials intervened and removed the illegal fencing.

It is alleged that Nagesh Pilar along with a few others tried to encroach upon the land by erecting a barbed wire fence around the property.

Upon receiving information, Ullal taluk revenue inspector Pramod and his team conducted a raid on Friday. Acting on the directions of Ullal tahsildar Prashant Patil, revenue inspector Pramod along with village administrative officer Ahmad Khan visited the spot and carried out a clearance operation, removing the fence put up on the encroached land.

A complaint has been filed with the police department against those involved in the act, officials said.
