Udupi: Police extern two rowdy-sheeters from district to curb anti-social activities

Udupi, Apr 3: In a decisive action to maintain law and order, the Udupi district police have externed two rowdy-sheeters from the district, barring them from entering the area for a specified period. The orders were issued on Thursday, April 2 by the Udupi district superintendent of police and special magistrate.

The orders target Vijetha, from the Kaup police station jurisdiction, and Arif Saheb, from the Padubidri police station limits.

Vijetha, a resident of Pithrody in Udyavara village, has been named in four cases, including attempted murder and assault. He has been externed to Karwar in Uttara Kannada district.

Arif Saheb, a resident of Mudarangadi under Padubidri police limits, faces five cases, including attempted murder, assault, and drug consumption. A rowdy sheet has also been registered against him. He has been externed to Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district.

A police spokesperson said the stringent action was necessary to prevent disturbances to public peace. “These measures are being taken to ensure the safety and security of residents and to curb anti-social elements operating in the district,” the official added.

Both individuals are barred from entering Udupi district for the duration specified in the externment orders, reflecting the police’s firm approach to tackling habitual offenders and maintaining law and order.
