Bantwal: Father dies in accident while on way to inflate son’s bicycle

Bantwal, Apr 2: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday near Shanti shop at Kaikamba on National Highway 75, where a man who was on his way to inflate his son’s bicycle died after being hit by a Bolero pickup vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as Godwin Pinto (49), a resident of Shanti shop area.

He had brought home a new bicycle for his children on Tuesday. As the tyre had no air, he was heading to a nearby cycle shop on Wednesday to get it inflated. At this time, a Bolero pickup vehicle rammed into him. Due to the impact of the collision, he sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

He was engaged in vehicle painting work at Talapady in B C Road.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.

A case has been registered at the traffic police station.
