Karkala, Mar 31: Shankar N Shetty (76), a resident of Perdur Koityar near Varanga in Karkala taluk, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, at his residence ‘Pavitra Nilaya’ following a brief illness.
He was a well-known figure in the region, having served as a labour contractor at the KEL company in Varanga for the past 46 years.
He is survived by his wife, three sons—Prashanth Shetty, Praveen Shetty Varanga (manager of Buntara Bhavana, Mumbai), and Pradeep Shetty—and daughter Pavitra Shetty, besides a large circle of relatives and friends.
Family sources informed that the mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at ‘Pavitra Nilaya’ in Varanga on Wednesday, April 1, at 1:30 pm, followed by the final rites.
