Mumbai, Mar 31: A 70-year-old man has been taken into custody by the NRI Coastal Police following allegations of sexual abuse involving three young girls in his neighborhood. The victims, aged 7, 9, and 10, were reportedly targeted while playing in a residential building passage on the evening of March 26.
The Investigation and Arrest
The incident came to light after one of the children reported a "bad touch" to her mother. This disclosure prompted the other two girls to share similar experiences, leading to an immediate police report.

Authorities moved swiftly once the complaint was filed:
• 9:30 PM: Formal FIR registered against the suspect.
• 10:00 PM: Accused placed under arrest by local officers.
Legal Action
Senior Inspector Devender Pol confirmed that the accused faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for assault or criminal force with intent to outrage modesty, in conjunction with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to Investigating Officer API Yogesh Gaikwad, the 70-year-old appeared before a local court on March 27 and has since been remanded to magistrate custody.
