Sullia: Bus hits low-hanging power line, electric pole collapses in Duggaldka

Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia

Sullia, Mar 31: An electric pole collapsed onto the road after a private bus came into contact with a low-hanging power line near Koikuli in Duggaldka.

According to reports, heavy winds and rain over the past two days had caused two to three electric poles to fall in the Koikuli area. The fallen poles were later moved aside, but the electric wires near the Koikuli turn were left hanging low.

On Monday, a private bus travelling from Subrahmanya brushed against the dangling wire, which led to the pole being pulled down onto the road.

No damage was reported to the bus, and although the pole fell in front of an oncoming van, no injuries or mishaps were reported.
