New Delhi, Mar 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with party workers from Assam through the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Samvad’ programme on the NaMo App, urging them to intensify grassroots efforts ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi praised their commitment and expressed confidence in the NDA alliance securing a third consecutive term in the state. He said the alliance enjoys strong support but sought feedback from workers to further strengthen the campaign.
Highlighting the importance of stability, Modi said Assam had witnessed prolonged instability before the BJP came to power, adding that the past decade has brought visible development across sectors. He urged workers to remind first-time voters about governance during earlier Congress regimes.

“Even a minor misstep can push Assam backwards. Peace and stability are essential for sustained development,” he said.
The Prime Minister also cautioned party workers about the growing threat of AI-generated misinformation during the election season. He advised them to spread awareness and ensure that fake content does not mislead voters.
Modi criticised previous Congress governments, alleging they failed to secure agreements with insurgent groups and student organisations, which contributed to unrest in the region.
Earlier, BJP leader Nitin Nabin expressed confidence that the party would form the government for a third consecutive term in Assam. Speaking at a rally, he said the BJP was aiming for a “hat-trick” after forming previous governments under Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Elections to the 126-member Assam Assembly are scheduled for April 9, with results to be declared on May 4. This will be the first election after the 2023 delimitation exercise.
Currently, the BJP holds 64 seats in the Assembly, while its allies — AGP (9), UPPL (7), and BPF (3) — support the ruling alliance. In the opposition, Congress has 26 MLAs, AIUDF 15, and CPI(M) one, along with one Independent legislator.
