Man killed after being hit by train at Ghatkopar station; probe underway

Mumbai, Mar 30: A 33-year-old man working in the shipping industry died after being struck by a local train at Ghatkopar railway station, officials said.

The deceased, identified as Narendra Mandre, a resident of Bhatwadi in Ghatkopar, was hit by an Up fast air-conditioned local train on platform 4 on March 27.

He was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The Kurla Government Railway Police have registered a case of accidental death and initiated further investigation. Police said they are probing the circumstances under which the victim was on the railway tracks at the time of the incident.

Officials added that the impact of the collision was severe, resulting in fatal injuries.
