Bantwal: Absconding theft accused arrested after eight years

The Bantwal rural police have successfully apprehended an individual who had been absconding for the past eight years in connection with a theft case.

The accused, identified as Shakeel P (43), a resident of Palakkad, Kerala, had failed to appear for court proceedings under the Bantwal Rural police station limits for nearly a decade.

Following a lead, Bantwal Rural police personnel Santhosh and Shivananda Maddi tracked the accused to Tirur, Kerala, where he was arrested on March 27. He was subsequently brought to Bantwal and produced before the court.
