Tel Aviv, Mar 28: A man in his 60s was killed in central Tel Aviv after a missile launched from Iran struck the area, according to Israeli emergency services and police.
Authorities said the attack occurred late Friday night and involved a missile carrying cluster munitions that dispersed over multiple locations in the Tel Aviv metropolitan region. The victim, identified as a construction worker, died after being struck by shrapnel from one of the explosive fragments.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that two additional individuals sustained light to moderate injuries in the incident.

Air raid sirens were triggered across large parts of central Israel around midnight, forcing residents to take shelter as the missile threat unfolded. Earlier the same night, another missile launched from Iran targeted southern Israel, leaving two people with minor injuries.
The escalation comes amid rising hostilities following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets beginning February 28. In response, Iran and its regional allies have carried out retaliatory attacks on Israeli and American interests across the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that a heavy water research reactor facility in Khondab, located in central Iran, was hit in airstrikes attributed to the US and Israel. Local authorities said there were no casualties or immediate risks to residents. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran later confirmed the strike.
In a separate development, a yellowcake production plant in Iran’s Yazd province was also targeted. Officials stated that no radioactive leakage had been detected. The facility, inaugurated in 2023, produces uranium concentrate used in the early stages of nuclear fuel processing.
The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged carrying out the two strikes, as the cycle of attacks and counterattacks continues to heighten tensions in the region.
