Mangaluru, Mar 25: The India Meteorological Department (Department) has forecast rain in several parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts over the next two to three days.
According to the IMD, the atmospheric pressure in the Arabian Sea is expected to trigger rain accompanied by gusty winds and lightning across various locations. Significant rainfall is also anticipated in the South Interior Karnataka region.

In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 33.5°C, which is 0.4°C below normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 25.2°C. As of 8:30 am on March 24, the maximum temperatures recorded were 39°C in Dakshina Kannada and 37.4°C in Udupi district.
In Udupi district, several areas including Kundapur, Hiriadka, Bellarpadi, and Atrady experienced rain accompanied by thunder and lightning on Tuesday evening. This shift in weather follows a period of extreme heat recorded over the past few days. The weather department has indicated that these fluctuations are likely to continue for a few more days across the district.
Heavy rain with thunder and lightning was reported in the Siribagilu area of Kadaba taluk on Tuesday evening, while other parts of the taluk received moderate rainfall.
In Sullia taluk, moderate rain was reported in Kalmadka, Panja, and surrounding areas. Reports of hailstorms were also noted in some localities. Meanwhile, Beltangady taluk also witnessed moderate showers.
Sagara city and its rural outskirts experienced heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning for several hours on Tuesday afternoon, leading to various mishaps.
In the Ayodhya Tower area, rainwater gushed into several shops due to unscientific construction work on B H Road. In many parts of the city, overflowing sewage water flooded the streets, causing significant inconvenience to the public.
