Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 24: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a temporary water supply shutdown and low-pressure supply in parts of the H-West ward due to pipeline commissioning work scheduled for March 28 and 29.

The civic body will undertake the installation of a new 750 mm diameter water pipeline at the junction of Ramdas Naik Marg, Swami Vivekanand Marg, and RK Patkar Marg in Bandra West. The work will continue for 16 hours, beginning at 11 pm on March 28 and concluding at 5 pm on March 29.

As a result, residents in several areas will face water cuts or reduced pressure. On March 29, supply will be affected in Khar West, Santacruz West, and parts of Bandra West. Key localities likely to experience disruption include Bazaar Marg, Jain Mandir Marg, Hill Road, Perry Road, Carter Road, and surrounding areas such as Ranwar Gaon, Chimbai Gaon, and Sherly Gaon. Areas like Khardanda Koliwada, Dandpada, Chuim Gaothan, and parts of Gazdarbandh slum will also be impacted.

On March 28, some areas in Khar West and Bandra West, including regions along Dr Ambedkar Marg, Pali Gaothan, and Pali Plateau, will experience disruptions.

The BMC has advised residents to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown period. As an added precaution, citizens are encouraged to boil and filter drinking water for the next four to five days following the restoration of supply.
