Dubai-based social worker Sameer Sharif passes away at 43 after brief illness

Udupi, Mar 23: Sameer Sharif (43), a resident of Pande, Udyavara, passed away on Monday, March 23 morning following a brief illness.

Sameer Sharif was known as a talented cricketer and was a recipient of the District Rajyotsava Award. Sameer Sharif was an active member of Udyavara Friends Circle and a member of the Mohiyuddin Jumma Masjid Jamaat in Udyavar.

Professionally based in Dubai, he was also actively involved in community service through organizations such as the Dubai Kannada Sangha, Byari organizations, and Udyavara Friends Circle, earning recognition as a committed social worker.

He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

Several dignitaries, including Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty and former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, have expressed their condolences.
