Mangaluru, Mar 23: The Catholic Sabha, Bondel unit, prayerfully organized the Lenten devotion ‘Golgatha’ on Sunday, March 22 inviting the faithful to reflect deeply on the Passion and sacrifice of the Lord.
The Holy Eucharistic celebration was solemnly led by Fr Roshan D’Cunha, director of YCS Mangalore, and concelebrated by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest, making the occasion spiritually enriching and grace-filled for all gathered.
In his homily, Fr Roshan D’Cunha highlighted five essential steps to transform lives: to acknowledge and accept one's faults, to have true contrition, to seek forgiveness through confession, to turn away from sin, and to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. He further emphasized the importance of repentance—restoring the relationship with God that is broken by sin, renewing spiritual life, and leading one towards salvation.

This Lenten season calls us to a deep inner transformation, inviting us to renew our hearts and lives by walking closer with the Lord and embracing His mercy and love, he said.
Br Prashanth Frank from the Krupabhisheka Prayer Ministry led the faithful in a powerful time of praise and worship, invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit and inviting all to experience God’s grace. He prayerfully guided the congregation through the stations of the cross, helping them deeply contemplate the Passion of Christ — His suffering, sacrifice, and immense love for humanity. Each station brought the faithful closer to understanding how Jesus endured pain and ultimately gave His life for all.
During the time of adoration, the Blessed Sacrament was reverently exposed, creating a deeply prayerful and grace-filled atmosphere. The faithful were drawn into a profound encounter with the Lord. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza then imparted the final blessing and sprinkled holy water upon the faithful. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick was also administered by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Fr Lawrence Cutinha, and Fr Peter Gonsalves, bringing healing, strength, and comfort to those in need.
Fr Andrew expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Br Prashanth Frank and his team for spiritually preparing the faithful for the Lenten season and the upcoming Easter. Special thanks were also extended to the Catholic Sabha, Bondel unit, for organizing such a meaningful and spiritually enriching prayer service.
The prayer service concluded with a fellowship meal, strengthening the bonds of unity and fellowship among all who were present.
