Udupi: Kishore Alva elected as chairman of Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India

Udupi, Mar 21: The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (Assocham) has appointed Kishore Alva as the chairman of its Karnataka State Council for the year 2026–27.

A seasoned industry leader, Kishore Alva brings over three decades of extensive experience spanning multinational corporations, energy, infrastructure, and international trade relations. Over the years, he has held key leadership and strategic roles in globally reputed organisations such as Cogentrix, CLP-I, Unocal 76, and the US.-India Business Council (USIBC), contributing significantly to business development, policy advocacy, and institutional strengthening.

Kishore Alva has also played a prominent role in industry associations and academic governance. He served the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) during 2018–19, on getting elected as president, where he actively promoted industry-led initiatives, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement.

Currently, he is serving as executive director and president of Adani Group in Karnataka. In addition, he has contributed to higher education governance by heading University Councils in the state, reflecting his commitment to institutional development and knowledge ecosystems.

As chairman of Assocham Karnataka State Council, Kishore Alva will spearhead initiatives aimed at fostering industry growth, enhancing ease of doing business, and strengthening collaboration between industry and government. His focus areas are expected to include promoting investments, supporting MSMEs, encouraging innovation, and facilitating policy advocacy aligned with Karnataka’s economic priorities.

Expressing his vision, Kishore Alva emphasised the importance of building a resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem in Karnataka by leveraging technology, sustainability, and global partnerships. He reiterated his commitment to working closely with stakeholders to position Karnataka as a leading investment and innovation hub.

With a strong membership base of over 450,000 companies, including large corporates and MSMEs, Assocham plays a vital role in shaping policy discourse and advocating actionable reforms to strengthen the Indian economy.
