Sullia: Chemical tanker overturns near Parivarakana on NH; minor leak reported

Sullia, Mar 14: A container truck transporting industrial chemicals overturned on the national highway near Parivarakana on Friday, resulting in a minor chemical leak.

The container lorry was travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru via Madikeri when the driver’s cabin reportedly detached from the container unit, causing the vehicle to overturn on the road.

Following the accident, a small quantity of the chemical reportedly leaked through the container lid.

Personnel from the Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services station in Sullia rushed to the spot and launched a recovery operation. Using three cranes, the team took measures to lift and stabilise the overturned container.

District fire officer Jallikar Nawaz, Sullia fire station officer Kiran and other fire service personnel participated in the operation.
