Udupi, Mar 12: A car driver allegedly assaulted a scooter rider and his wife after colliding with their vehicle near Chitaranjan Circle in Udupi on the morning of March 12.

The car, which was reportedly moving at high speed, hit the scooter, causing the rider and his wife to fall onto the road. Instead of helping the injured couple, the driver allegedly got out of the car and suddenly attacked the scooter rider.

The situation escalated when the rider’s wife attempted to record the incident on her mobile phone. Enraged by this, the driver allegedly assaulted her as well and tried to flee the spot in his car.

The woman stood in front of the vehicle and resisted his attempt to escape. Her act drew the attention of the public, who rushed to the spot and confronted the driver. The crowd expressed strong anger over the driver’s behaviour.
