Udupi: Absconding NDPS case accused arrested in Brahmavar

Udupi, Mar 11: The police have arrested a warrant accused who had been absconding for nearly a year in connection with a narcotics case registered at the Malpe police station.

The accused, Kishore (24), a resident of Lakshmi Nagar in Uppoor village, had failed to appear before the court for approximately one year regarding a special case pending before the District and Sessions Court, Udupi. The case pertains to a crime registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Malpe police station.

Kishore was also wanted in connection with several other cases registered at the Brahmavar, Kundapur, and Udupi police stations.

Acting on the court warrant, a police team comprising head constables Suresh Kumar and Adarsh, along with PSI Hussain Saab, who is the investigating officer, traced the accused and arrested him from Lakshmi Nagar in Kolalagiri, Brahmavar.

Following the arrest, the accused was produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody until March 26.
