Mangaluru: 32-year-old man from Konaje goes missing after calling his mother

Mangaluru, Mar 10: A 32-year-old man has been reported missing from Konaje since the night of Monday, March 9. The Konaje police have issued a look-out notice following a complaint filed by the man's father.

The missing individual has been identified as Vivek Shettigar, son of Dinesh Shettigar, a resident of Mucchi Lakodi House in Konaje village.

Vivek is an employee at Veda Motors located near Kadri in Mangaluru. According to the complaint, he typically left for work at 11 am and returned home by 9 pm daily. On March 9, he left for work as usual. At approximately 9:30 pm that night, he called his mother to inform her that he was visiting a temple and would be late returning home, advising the family not to wait for him.

However, when Vivek did not return by midnight, his family attempted to call his mobile phone, but the calls went unanswered. Subsequent attempts to reach him the following morning were also unsuccessful. Upon contacting his workplace, the family was informed that the company remained closed. After searching for him among relatives and at various locations without success, his father approached the police.

Physical description

The police have provided the following description of Vivek Shettigar:

  • Age: 32 years

  • Height: 5'7"

  • Build: Sturdy physique with a round face and wheatish complexion.

  • Appearance: He has a beard.

  • Clothing: Last seen wearing a white dotted long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

  • Languages known: Tulu and Kannada.

The Konaje police have registered a case (No. 21/2026) and are currently investigating.
