Kadaba: Explosives used for well digging damage nearby houses in Ramakunja; complaint filed

Kadaba, Mar 10: Houses located near a site where explosives were used for digging a well were damaged in an incident reported on Sunday March 8 at Kampa in Ramakunja village of Kadaba taluk.

Meanwhile, an operation to remove explosive material that remained unexploded inside the well was started on the morning of March 10 by personnel of the bomb disposal squad.

At Kampa in Ramakunja village, Somasekhar, a resident of Mysuru, had purchased 23 cents of land from his relatives, where areca nut trees are present. A well was being dug on the land in search of water. When rock was encountered at a depth of about 15 feet, explosives were reportedly used to continue the digging work.

Accordingly, explosives were detonated on Sunday, resulting in cracks appearing on the walls of houses belonging to nearby residents Vamana Moolya and K T Mohan.

Following the incident, they lodged a complaint with the Kadaba police. Sub-inspector Jamburaj Mahajan of Kadaba police station visited the spot the same day and registered a case.

As some explosive material remained unexploded inside the well, personnel of the bomb disposal squad, fire and emergency services personnel, Kadaba SI Jamburaj and members of the FSL team arrived on the morning of March 10 and began an operation to remove it.
