Abu Dhabi, Mar 8: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals who record videos or take photographs at incident sites, restricted areas, or inside airports without proper authorisation.
The advisory was shared by the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, urging Indian nationals living in or visiting the UAE to follow local laws and safety guidelines carefully.
The embassy emphasised that people should immediately move to a safe location if a warning alert is issued and remain there until authorities declare the area safe. It specifically cautioned against stepping outside to capture photos or videos during such situations.

Indian nationals were also advised not to share or circulate images of incident sites — including damage caused by projectiles or shrapnel — on digital or social media platforms.
The embassy further warned that if individuals notice shrapnel or any suspicious object nearby, they should inform the relevant authorities immediately. People were urged to stay away from such objects and avoid touching or approaching them so that officials can safely handle the situation.
Additionally, travellers were reminded not to take photographs or record videos inside airports during arrival or departure procedures.
The advisory comes amid heightened regional tensions. The UAE Ministry of Defence said on Sunday that its air defence systems had been activated to respond to incoming missile and drone threats originating from Iran.
In a post on the social media platform X, the ministry clarified that the sounds heard in certain areas were the result of air defence systems intercepting missiles and drones.
Authorities have urged residents to remain indoors in safe locations and to follow updates issued through official communication channels as the situation continues to develop.
