Kundapur, Mar 7: In a devastating accidental fire, a house in Belikoderi, Santayyanakeri, Gangolli village was completely damaged on Friday evening.
The affected house belongs to Jalaja Poojarti. The fire gutted all household belongings, walls developed cracks, and one section of the wall collapsed. Preliminary estimates put the loss at over Rs 6 lac.
The incident occurred while Jalaja Poojarti had gone to the sea for fishing, and no one was at home during the mishap. Neighbours, along with members of the Gangolli Shaurya Disaster Management Unit and local residents, rushed to the scene to douse the flames.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
