No shortage of LPG, public need not panic over rumours: HPCL Dealers’ Association

Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala

Karkala, Mar 5: Clarifying rumours circulating on social media regarding a potential shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Nithyananda Pai, state vice president of the Karnataka State Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Dealers’ Association, stated that there is no cause for public alarm.

Pai confirmed that all dealers currently have sufficient gas stocks and there is no scarcity. HPCL has also issued official information reinforcing that the country's fuel security remains strong. The petroleum product supply chains across the nation are operating without any interruptions despite the international geopolitical situation.

Booking regulations

Addressing the current distribution guidelines, Nithyananda Pai noted that while the maximum limit for a household remains 15 cylinders per year, certain booking protocols are in place. As per current instructions, there must be a minimum gap of one month between two consecutive gas bookings.

The association has urged the public not to fall prey to misinformation or engage in panic buying, as the supply of essential fuel remains stable.
