Mangaluru, Feb 27: The much-anticipated Tulu movie Birdudaa Kambalaa celebrated a vibrant launch event on Friday, February 27, at Bharath Cinemas, drawing film lovers, cultural icons, artistes, and cinema personalities from across the Tulunadu region.
The curtain-raiser function featured an inspiring lighting of the lamp ceremony, marking the official release day of the film, which brings the traditional Kambala sport and Tulu culture to life on the big screen.








Among the distinguished guests present were notable figures such as Balakrishna Shetty, Akosh Shetty, actor-comedian R. Dhanraj, Pammi Kodialbail, Lakshman Kumar Mallur, Sadashiva Amin, music maestro Manikanth Kadri, K K Pejavara Swaraj Shetty, Rajesh Kudla, and Arun Rai Thodar, among many others.
In his blessing speech, Balakrishna Shetty extended heartfelt wishes to the Birdudaa Kambalaa team, urging everyone to support and bless the film throughout its theatrical journey. “With the grace of God and the goodwill of the people,” he said, “may this movie run successfully for 100 days and beyond, bringing pride to Tulu cinema.”
Swaraj Shetty also shared his heartfelt support, emphasizing the importance of community blessings and divine favour for the success of regional films that celebrate local traditions and culture.
The film stars a talented ensemble of actors, blending Tulu and regional artistes, including Dushyanth Adithya, Prakash Raj, P Ravi Shankar, Radhika Narayan, Naveen D Padil, Gopinath Bhat, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Usha Bhandary, and others.
This release marks a celebration of Tulu language and culture, spotlighting the unique sport of Kambala – a racing tradition that remains an integral part of coastal Karnataka’s identity.
