Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Feb 23: A drunk two-wheeler rider allegedly attacked a traffic constable in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Somnath Giri, was reportedly stopped by traffic constable Santosh Kharat for riding dangerously near a road divider. During the check, he was found to be in an inebriated state.

Eyewitnesses said Giri began arguing with the constable and later called his wife to the spot. The argument escalated as he allegedly behaved aggressively and continued confronting the officer.
Videos circulating on social media showed the man charging towards the constable and pushing him. In one of the clips, he is seen pushing aside his wife as she attempted to intervene and calm the situation. He also allegedly lay down on the road, causing disruption to traffic.
Additional police personnel later reached the spot and took the couple to the police station. A case has been registered against them, and further investigation is under way.
