Mumbai, Feb 18: Mumbai witnessed a hazy start to Wednesday, with weather conditions expected to turn partly cloudy as the day progresses. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may settle near 22 degrees Celsius, making it a relatively warm day across the city and suburbs.

According to the forecast issued at 10 am, hazy conditions are expected to prevail in several parts of the metropolis during the morning hours.

The city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 77, placing it in the ‘satisfactory’ category.

Data from the Centre’s SAMEER app indicated a marginal dip in pollution levels across multiple monitoring stations. Bandra-Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 77, while Andheri East stood at 86 and Chembur at 70. Colaba reported 60, Kandivali East 77, Bandra East 62, Kurla 77, Malad West 84, and Sion 82 — reflecting stable air quality conditions in most parts.

However, certain areas reported relatively higher pollution levels. Worli and Shivaji Nagar both registered an AQI of 115, falling in the moderate category.

On the brighter side, Borivali East recorded an AQI of 49 and Byculla 50, placing them in the ‘good’ category.

Overall, air quality across Mumbai remains largely satisfactory, though residents in moderate pollution zones are advised to exercise caution, particularly those with respiratory ailments.
