Ben White eases injury fears after FA Cup scare

London, Feb 16: Ben White has played down fears of an injury after being forced off during Arsenal F.C.’s 4-0 FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic F.C.

White started the tie against the League One side but was substituted in the closing stages after going down and appearing unable to continue. The incident, coupled with a warm-up issue for Riccardo Calafiori, slightly dampened what was otherwise a dominant performance from the Gunners.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admitted after the game that his side’s growing injury list is a concern as they chase an unprecedented quadruple this season.

However, White reassured fans by posting on social media alongside a picture from the match: “Next round, No injuries,” suggesting he is unlikely to miss upcoming fixtures.

The update comes as a relief for Arteta, who is already without several key players. Mikel Merino is expected to miss the remainder of the season, while Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard are also dealing with injuries.

“Before it was the strikers, then it was the defenders, now it’s the midfielders,” Arteta said after the win. “We are still coping with that, but we need some players back and fit, to give us not only numbers but different options in relation to the opponents that we have. So the quicker the better.”

Arsenal return to Premier League action in midweek with a chance to re-establish a seven-point lead over Manchester City F.C.

Arteta will take his side to Molineux buoyed by signs of improved form from Eberechi Eze, who impressed against Wigan after a challenging spell adapting to his summer move from Crystal Palace. The manager praised Eze’s attacking intent and creativity, saying such moments are vital for building confidence and momentum within the squad.
