Mangaluru: MSW students of Srinivas University conduct community survey at Soorinje

Mangaluru, Feb 13: The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University organised a community visit and survey at Ponnagiri in Soorinje–Delanthabettu village on February 3.

As part of the Srinivas Hospital survey initiative, a total of 160 houses were covered during the visit. The programme witnessed the active participation of 29 MSW students, who engaged in household surveys and community interaction activities.

The visit was led by Prof Joyson, head of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with Prof Ranjith Bhat, assistant professor; Dr Laveena D’Mello, professor; Dr Stutima Bassista, assistant professor; and Sadhananda from the Marketing Department.

The community outreach initiative provided students with practical exposure to fieldwork, enabling them to interact directly with residents and understand local issues and healthcare-related concerns. The survey aimed to gather essential data to support community health initiatives and strengthen institutional engagement with the local population.

The programme was conducted successfully with active involvement from both faculty members and students.
