Kaup, Feb 11: In a bizarre incident reported from the Kaup municipality office on Tuesday, February 10, several staff members and members of the public were accidentally trapped inside the building due to the negligence of the office personnel.

According to reports, the incident occurred during the evening when the staff responsible for locking up the premises reportedly secured the main doors without verifying if everyone had exited the building. As a result, both employees who were still completing their work and citizens who had visited the office for various administrative tasks found themselves locked in.

The situation caused significant panic and frustration among those trapped inside. Realizing they were locked in, the individuals raised an alarm and contacted local officials and higher authorities to bring the matter to their notice.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from the public, who have slammed the staff for their sheer incompetence and lack of basic coordination. Citizens pointed out that such oversight not only causes inconvenience but also poses a safety risk in the event of an emergency.

Following the outcry, local leaders have demanded strict action against the personnel responsible for the lapse to ensure that such incidents do not recur.

Nice to hear Kaup is municipality. So elected municipal officials should take the call and train the staff.

Utter negligence and irresponsibility on the part of the staff responsible. Government office and easy-going attitude always prevails.

This is a government office; why are the staff working late? Government offices typically start later and finish earlier than their official hours, so this is a common practice. The individual responsible for locking the doors and gates performed his duties flawlessly.
