Puttur: Police arrest man for possession of MDMA

Puttur: Police personnel on day rounds at Panjala in Uppinangady village arrested a man found in possession of MDMA on Tuesday, February 10.

The accused has been identified as Yahya Kokkada (48).

According to the press release, the police spotted the accused standing in a suspicious manner around 6 pm. Upon being taken into custody and questioned, he confessed to possessing MDMA with the intent to sell it.

During the mahazar conducted in the presence of witnesses, the police seized 2.16 grams of MDMA valued at approximately Rs 3,000. Additionally, an iPhone worth Rs 45,000 and a Samsung keypad mobile phone worth Rs 1,000 were confiscated. The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs 49,000.

A case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
