Gaza, Feb 10: Preparations are underway to receive thousands of Indonesian soldiers who are expected to join the international stabilisation force in the Gaza Strip, according to a report by Israel’s Kan TV.
The report said no specific arrival date has been finalised yet, but the Indonesian contingent is likely to be the first foreign force to enter Gaza as part of the proposed mission. The troops are expected to be deployed in southern Gaza, in the area between Rafah and Khan Yunis.

Kan TV reported that the designated area for the deployment is ready, although the construction of housing facilities for the soldiers is expected to take several weeks. Estimates indicate that the Indonesian force could number several thousand personnel.
Meanwhile, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is expected to visit Washington on February 19 to attend a Peace Council meeting chaired by US President Donald Trump. Subianto had earlier stated that Indonesia is prepared to send up to 20,000 soldiers to Gaza as part of international efforts to stabilise the region.
