Inter-state car-breaking gang nabbed in Mumbai, gadgets worth Rs 3.2 lac recovered

Mumbai, Feb 7: Amboli Police have arrested an inter-state gang involved in breaking car window panes and stealing electronic gadgets, following a meticulous surveillance operation.

The breakthrough came after a theft was reported on January 21 from Sab TV Lane in Andheri West, where unidentified thieves smashed a car window and decamped with a laptop, a bag, and mobile and laptop chargers.

Investigators analysed footage from nearly 70 CCTV cameras and tracked the suspects’ movements over three days. Based on the leads gathered, the police team traced and apprehended the accused from the Narpoli area of Bhiwandi.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mahesh Naidu (22), Jaykumar Vilasani (24), and Sada Naidu (36). Police recovered stolen gadgets and burglary tools collectively valued at approximately Rs 3.2 lac from their possession.

Further investigation is underway to determine the gang’s involvement in similar offences across the city and other states.
