Kundapur: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology students win award for NavIC-based navigation app

Kundapur, Feb 7: Team from Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapur, won an award at the NITTE Young Entrepreneurs Summit for developing a navigation application based on India’s indigenous NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) satellite system.

The award was conferred in recognition of their innovative navigation application aimed at promoting India’s local NavIC satellite technology and reducing dependence on foreign navigation networks.

The team, comprising Naveen Patil, Shashank S N, Meghashree, and Yashaswini, developed the cross-platform application titled ‘Indian Navigation – Indian NavIC'. The project was carried out under the guidance of Dr J Prakash and Gagan Bangera B T.

The application is designed to support location tracking and navigation services using India’s own satellite infrastructure, thereby contributing to the country’s technological self-reliance initiative.

Faculty members and management of the institution congratulated the students for bringing recognition to the college and for contributing towards the promotion of indigenous technology.
